Recent media predictions of flu pandemic coupled with the growing number of reported swine flu cases are the cause of a heightened concern of contacting this illness. In this show, host Jenny Hwozdek, CCH with guest homeopaths Dr. Nancy Gahles, CCH, DC and president of the National Center for Homeopathy and Mary Aspinwall, world-renowned homeopath, educator and author, discuss the role of homeopathy in flu prevention and treatment.
Looking back in history, Dr. Gahles recounts homeopathy's success in treating flu pandemic during the deadly Spanish Flu of 1918-21, which claimed an estimated 20 million lives. Today, homeopathy can be equally effective if the presenting symptoms are matched with a "remedy picture".

Kathy Newman's dog had a skin condition and food allergies. She took her dog to a homeopathic veterinarian and was amazed at how gentle the treatment was--and how quickly it took effect. She was so impressed that she sought a homeopathic doctor for her 18 year-old son, David, who was suffering from chronic headaches, congestion, and sleep problems.
Now, five of Kathy's seven children are being successfully treated for everything from anxiety and asthma to ear infections and allergies.

The healing process involves physical, mental, and emotional changes, which come from a wellness within. Homeopathic remedies go far beyond an alleviation of symptoms; they can restore harmony to the body and open paths to a higher level of awareness. Bios
Melissa Burch, CCH, RsHom(NA), practices and teaches the "Sensation Method," a unique combination of classical and modern homeopathic methods. She is a graduate of the School of Homeopathy New York (directed by Joanne Daly), and the New York School of Homeopathy (directed by Robert Stewart). Ms. Burch worked with Dr. Nandita Shah at the Quiet Healing Center in South India where she studied with the Bombay Group led by Dr. Rajan Sankaran. She currently practices in the Boston area where she treats a wide range of clients, from newborns to the elderly.
Host Jenny Hwozdek, CCH, RSHom(NA) is a nationally certified homeopath, a member of the Royal Society of Homeopaths (North America), and a 1998 graduate of the Pacific Academy of Homeopathy in San Francisco. She practices a unique combination of Classical and Contemporary Homeopathy in the Sensation Style of the Mumbai School. Jenny has practices in both State College, Pennsylvania and Stoneham, Massachusetts, and is also available by telephone and skype for long distance work.
While she cherishes her one-on-one work with clients in her practice, Jenny is also actively involved in the education of new homeopaths as well as supporting the continuing education of practicing homeopaths. She is currently the Director of Educational Programs for the Catalyst School of Homeopathy based in Colorado. Jenny also works with Inner Health and teaches advanced level workshops and live clinics around the country, as well as directing a monthly tele-training series designed to support professional homeopaths in the refinement of their practice and understanding of homeopathy.
