TEN YEAR OLD NINA’S CASE

A TEN YEAR OLD GIRL had a “bad teacher that is screaming” at her. The teacher said, she was not a good student in front of the class and was not trying in her studies. He said, she was lying when she told her parents about him. She said, “I think if someone was looking for the baddest man in the whole world, he would be one of them. He is so scary and makes me not feel so well.” She feels he is going to hit her. She says, “He is a lot stronger than me, he could hit me, break my bones or something like that.”

She was afraid she didn’t have any friends in her class, because they were not playing with her anymore. She felt her friends hated her. A friend is like a sister or brother. She says, “it is like if I am in a jungle and get lost, a friend could protect me. If I am in danger, or if we were lost, they could help me to find food, fruits. They could help me to find the way, to go back home.”

She had a dream in which she was in the kitchen, and the teacher came to her house and told her parents something so terrible about her that they left with the teacher. She was left all alone. She felt that she might have a chance, because her brothers and sisters would come back; maybe they went to the supermarket. In the dream, she didn’t understand how the teacher was such a big liar, and how he made her parents believe that she was such a bad girl.

She is the youngest of four children, and was almost put up for adoption by her parents when she was born. The mother says that until this year she was a good student, did her homework well, and had friends in school. Since this teacher problem began, she is no longer able to study, is failing her classes, and coming home crying after school. She is easily upset by anything her siblings do or say to her. The parents have been supportive and had meetings with the teacher and principal. The teacher has a reputation of being harsh with his students. Discussions had started to move her to another class, but the change might be disruptive so close to the end of the school year.

analysis
This case represents a situation where a child has to face a difficult situation in life, which triggers a deep fear or belief that she could be abandoned by her parents. This situation almost happened in real life when she was almost put up for adoption. It is not hopeless in her mind, because she feels her siblings will come to the rescue. It is interesting that the loss of friends for her means that she is not protected, will not be able to find food, or find her way home, which is usually provided by the parents not by friends. She has supportive parents and a principal, but still she is unable to cope with the teacher, which will result in her failing her studies. She received one dose of Magnesium Carbonicum, a mineral remedy, which has a characteristic emotional symptom of feeling like an orphan or abandoned child.

results
A week after taking the remedy, she was no longer coming home from school crying, could focus on her homework, and had found the courage to answer questions in the classroom. She was laughing more and not so easily disturbed by her siblings. She said to her parents that she wondered how the other children were handling the teacher, because he was so rude to them. A month after taking the remedy, she said that she did not need to leave the class and that she was fine with the teacher. Her grades improved significantly. Her parents said, she was much more affectionate and open with them and her friends.
analysis
What happened? It is possible that Nina became more aware of her situation, and it took time for her to realize that it was not her, but the teacher that was the problem. However, if we think about our own lives or the lives of friends, many times we are aware of the situation, but the feeling continues. We also keep recreating similar situations at work or with relationships, which means it is us that has the problem, not the other person.

The homeopathic remedy, in a gentle and deep way,
created the possibility that Nina could see: it was not only her, but that the teacher was harsh to others in the class.

This realization, which came from the homeopathic treatment, transformed the situation so that she could again feel good about herself, succeed in her studies, and enjoy her friends and family. Nina no longer believes she is a bad person, who will be left by her parents. Her reality changed so that she is now able to cope with the teacher and to recognize that the other children are also suffering from this teacher.
